It's because she's an ignorant bitch, and she does all of little Johny's dirty work that I find it hard to feel sorry for her.
Personally I think that we should pick her bloody house up, dump her in the desert, build a bloody great fence around it and not answer her calls for several years...see how she likes it.
Being ugly just makes it easier to hate her.
